We and our Nature

We and our Nature

The mystic universe is still an enigma to the question of live. But on earth life not only exists but makes it presence felt in various elements.

Be it nature, wildlife or through its finest form, the human being.

To nature, man owes his very existence. The bounteous Mother Nature has given all her resources for the benefit of mankind.

The picturque landscape, the luxuriant forest, the lofty hill ranges, the flora and fauna all boldly proclaim the presence for the benefit of living creatures- men and animals alive. All the living creatures are depended  upon nature for survival.

But the selfish reasoning of man, has exploited the nature over the ages. These has resulted disturbance in biodiversity. The greed of man has taken the better of him. It promotes him to destroy natural resources. The resources that provided him roof over his head, the food to satisfy the huger, the water to quench his thrust and the cloths to hide his shame.

The imminent threat to such unwise activities is disturbance in harmonious blend, which maintain ecological balance.

What explains more the sudden rise in the number of extinct species or rising global temperature? Since time immeriorial mankind involving the Mother Nature through ceremonial performance soliciting for benevolence and prosperity.

But today looking at the endangered level of ecological imbalance, the awakening of man to stop merciless exploitation of nature can only bring blessing of nature.

In India, the cruel reality is more apparent in North East. A land which rich with natural vegetations and wildlife. The area is blessed with natural beauty, terraced mountains and thick belt of forest land facing the problem. And this problem covers the most important part of India.

With the advancement of civilization, the problem gained more prominence. While the urbanization has pushed it further to the forefront.

To meet up the need of the habitation of increasing number of population, miles after miles forest lands are destroyed.

The calm and serene atmosphere of jungle, get disturbed with innumerable tribal settlements in the pockets of forest. With the hike in population growth, the demand for basic needs got a quantum leap.

There is merciless cutting of trees for fuel wood and other consumptions.

The demand for more to grow , more build , more all in the name of one species” man” what then for?

The increase in need for food, demand more plain land for cultivation, on the other hand “Jhum” cultivation by the tribal folks causing much damage to the forest lands.

In North Eastern states more than 50% of the geographical area comes under forest coverage. It was not much long ago, the region of North East had land carpeted by miles and miles of thick green forest, animals, birds and mosaic of races and tribes create a vibrantly alive kaleidoscope of the area.

With the passage of time, the entire region is slowly getting deprived of lush green forest.

Many animals and birds which were once common sighted are now declared as “rare “species.

Large scale destruction of forest, poaching of wildlife by man for its selfish motive, is responsible for such plight.

Flash flood, land slide, soil erosion, drought, deforestation etc are responsible for harm to the nature and are now often heard.

Maintain the ecological balance, preservation the nature, are the need of the time. Otherwise human existence is in question.

To remain silent to such events is called the self annihilation.

It is high time for us to raise our voices against those who are responsible for the destruction of our nature. Let us learn about the nature closely. Love, preserve and respect the earth where we live. Use its resources with care. That is the need of the time for our present and future generations as well as mankind.

Let us work together.
