Poor work in Agartala-Khowai road
In the wake of severe shortage of bricks, a section of contractors have started using Bangladeshi and substandard bricks in executing development works like construction of buildings and roads in rural areas.
It has been alleged that the 53 km Khowai- Agartala via Subalshing-Mohanpur was construed using Bangladeshi bricks.
Not only that all the bricks used in the road work appeared low class in comparison of local bricks. Two contractors used substandard Bangladeshi bricks namely Pragati brand, which is also illegal according to the contract.
It seems, the NPCC kept mum on the poor quality of work.
