ISI agent, allies sent to 10 days remand
Red corridor of anti-national activities is no more a mere presumption in the bottleneck pseudo-regional scenario of Tripura as the anti-national activities of Inter-Services Intelligence operatives has become crystal today after the Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court here sent seven suspected persons to 10 days police remand for detailed interrogation of the arrestees. They include hardcore ISI agent Manir Khan alias Omar Asraf alias Omar Farooq Aslam alias many more as informed by the prosecution this evening. They will be again produced at the court on July 14 and the interrogation will be conducted at SB cell in the meanwhile.
The judicial procedure has come after a brisk phase of rapid arrests of Manir Khan with his six allies namely Ramu Ghosh, Rana Roy, Uttam Barman, Sujit Saha, Gouranga Dey by officials of Intelligence Bureau on July 03. Manir has received training from ISI camps at Multan and Bhawalpur in Pakistan and he is a Pakistani national, informed the prosecution.
He has got anti-national activities to his credit at Guwahati, Punjab, Bangladesh and several other places of India. This first grade agent of Pakistani intelligence had come to mobilize anti-national activities in the IBB adjacent region here, said the prosecution during court trial in the court of Judicial Magistrate (1st class) PC Biswas.
The Pak agent, as he has been projected, had reportedly landed from his residence at Bhawalpur in Karachi, Pakistan to Dhaka airport through due passport clearance et al. The following phase includes several criss-cross journey agendas as Manir was received by a doctor of Bangladesh national health services who is also suspected to be an ISI agent, he traveled through the semi-porous IBB along Sonamura border alongwith other allies namely Ramu Ghosh, known to be the gang pin of the trans-border smuggling racket and his subordinate namely Taj-ul-Islam. Ramu is a resident of the Netaji Subhash Palli area under Jagaharimura, Agartala while Sujit is a resident of Town Pratapgarh.
Manir used to live in the residence of one Rajib Roy Barman, resident of Araliya under the pseudonym of Bijoy Kumar Yadav. He is the driver of Ramu Ghosh.
