Indian delegation arrives in state for joint border-visit, Bangla team to arrive tomorrow

A delegation of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India led by the First Secretary (Commercial) to the Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka reached the state today to conduct a joint visit in the bordering areas of the state. The visit is expected to mainly focus on Land Custom Stations, proposed sites for Border Haats and other border infrastructure-related issues. A team of five officials f Bangladesh is scheduled to arrive through Akhaura check-post tomorrow morning. The team will visit Sub Group on Infrastructure Development on LCS in Tripura near India-Bangladesh border.
B Shyam, First Secretary (Commercial) of the Indian High Commissioner in Dhaka, Smt. Indira Murty, Director of the Department of Commerce of the Government of India, Surendra Singh, and Superintendent of the Department of Commerce of the Government of India arrived in the state today through Akhaura Land-Custom Station. Mokabbir Hossain, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh, Dr. Omar Faruque, First Secretary (Commercial) of Bangladesh, Md. Hasan Ali, XEN of the Bangladesh Land Port Authority, Kazi Ziaul Hasan, Senior Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh and SM Shamimur Rahman, Second Secretary of NBR are scheduled to arrive in the state tomorrow, informed Chaudhury this evening.
